A big thank you to Marylin for the opportunity to shoot the 2014 Run at Lake Lavon. We were there as volunteers for the US Army Corps of Engineers.
Marylin, Liz and I arrived to shoot the run not knowing quite what to expect. It was a fun challenge as we had to think like a photojournalist to capture the activity of the day. We all seemed to capture something different and I must say, the runners were very gracious and welcoming. Hope you enjoy a few of our photos.
Marylin was there early and was able to catch a group of the runners together…
And for our efforts we each received a medal! Hahaha! They must have obviously had extras! But hey… we were honored that they did that and thank you for getting our photo!
Sure hope more of you will be able to join us on our next mission as volunteers for the USACE! Thanks Marylin! It was fun!
Wish I could have shot to get one of those unique medals. Next time they should just use the shape of the skull for the entire medal and put the name/engraving on the backside. Like the variety of y’all’s interesting and fabulous shots.
Thanks rebeKah! We missed you!
Amazing that we got medals and we didn’t even have to run for them! This will be my one and only marathon medal!!!
Liz… I loved that black and white shot of that guy!
Some nice shots here from all of you!! Congratulations on your medals! 🙂 🙂 I really like Lake Lavon. Last spring Mike and I stopped by the USACE headquarters at the lake and spoke with someone at length about the lake and the wildlife to photograph. We got a pass that gives us access to Corps of Engineers parks. I would like to go more often. You did a great job of documenting this event!!!!!
Thank you Lorraine! With Marylin’s help, we are hoping to do more to document the local lakes and the wildlife as well as lake recreation. Stay tuned for more info!
The pictures are great. Wish I was there, but glad that you’ll had a blast.
Love the B&W too Liz. The picture of the three of you is beautiful.
Looks like you focused primarily on muscles…..you go girl! ss
Hahaha! Hey… no one said an older woman cannot look!!
