“I really wanted something better for this challenge. I like the idea of finding a Cardinal perched on a Cardinal Road sign or Mockingbird on a Mockingbird Lane sign, etc. Those shots are more about being in the right place at the right time and I don’t have anything like that.
Of course, evil came to me and tempted me! His name is Mike…..and he has a great shot of a bird, which I believe is a Flycatcher, sitting on top of a road sign at Hagerman that is named Wildllife Rd. He shot this in the early 90’s. He offered to sell me this shot!! I resisted evil and had to settle for whatever I could get! Darn me and my honesty!!! (Ha Ha) Seriously, I would never do that!”
Since I have such a liking for railroad tracks, railroad bridges, and trains, it seems only fitting that I shoot a railroad crossing sign! I would love to have one of these in my backyard! I shot this near the Rowlett Dart Station. It was a lot of fun!
Now, for a riddle: Railroad crossing, look out for cars.

“I was on an out & about in Fredericksburg, Va one Sunday afternoon a while back shooting photos of street musicians when I stumbled upon this “no need to explain little shop”. Couldn’t help but chuckle as I’m sure many have. Just happy thus far that I have not had to hear these words come out of my kids mouth!”
This month’s challenge is to shoot a sign of interest. We live in a world inundated with signs and the more you see, the more you will find to shoot. Sometimes we take them for granted but life becomes more interesting when you take notice of and shoot what others may totally overlook. I think we will be having fun with this one!

Sassy was on it and the first to send me a sign. She had me laughing from the “git go”!
“Oh lordy Fay, you are really settin yourself up for this one with me aintcha? It’s a highway sign for this an off ramp to a town here in my area. The name of the town is called, are ya ready for this?, ok swallow that drink real quick, don’t want you to spew it all over your computer screen…… Boring, Oregon! And yes it lives up to its name.”
Now when I googled Boring, Oregon, I found that the locals call it…
“the most exciting place to live.” I guess maybe that’s a personal thing.

My day started out like most other days and then I got this e-mail from Diana with an entry for the challenge!!
Woohoo! You made my day. So glad to have you join in! And this is what Diana said…
“I have not participated in any of the challenges, as life “just gets in the way”. I always look at everyone’s photos with fondness, and love seeing the pictures, but never seem to find (more likely TAKE!) the time for myself. I even made a resolution to participate in at least half of them!!! So far I have failed.
So despite being late, and it likely will not get posted, I wanted to show you what I took the other day during our lovely ice storm. I decided to add a quote and I liked it quite well!! I hope you will enjoy it…..and I promise to be more timely and present!!!”
