Yes… yes… I do like the cropped image better and I see that you cropped it all around. I might have cropped it a bit closer or cloned out the bits of sky and leaves at the top of the image as I love that solid black framing of the trees and structure.
And that gives me another idea for a challenge… framing your photo. This is so dramatic and certainly has more impact than the original although both photos are beautiful and I think I would like to be there right now!
Ya know, I would have been proud of the original, but the cropped version is more pleasing with the framing. Very nice.

Thank you all for the nice comments. It feels like a paradise there with the blue sky and water and white sand. In that water, you can walk about quarter a mile before the water is as tall (small) as me.
