  1. Lorraine… I have tried to shoot these flowers on numerous occasions and have failed miserably and now I know why, after seeing your photo. I was not shooting from a low enough profile, I was not close enough, and my depth of field was way off! You have aced it with this shot! Beautiful in every way!

      Thank you so much for your kind comment! I remember struggling trying to get the right angle and DOF on these. The breeze that day was not helping either. I am glad no one was near me as I kept telling these flowers to please hold still!!!

  2. Great shot Lorraine. I have not seen this flower (shame on me). What is that blue thing? Is that a welted petals?

    Thank you!!! Good question…….I am not sure why those blue wilted looking petals were hanging off this flower. I have wondered about this too!!

    This is a great photo great DOF and the perspective is right on! Also, purple is my favorite color!! 🙂
