Butterflies by Donna

I think Donna was using her new macro lense to shoot these butterflies and was having good success.
This butterfly may be a Julia Longwing but I am not certain.
If someone knows… please correct me if I am wrong.

  1. Donna… I think you did a great job shooting the butterflies and I am sorry I am unable to identify them all using the information they gave us. I think I need to get out my butterfly book and see what I can find.

  2. Donna,

You quickly got used to your new lens. I love them all. My favorite is your close up photo. I can even see the minute detail of the eyeball. Very good job.

  3. Donna,
Very nice job of capturing the beautiful butterflies! Glad to hear you are enjoying your new lens and what a perfect place to start out using one!

    • Thanks Lorraine, that’s what I said about the lens too!
However, subjects that were a little slower might have been better!
      Good practice though!

  4. Donna, Excellent job with the new lens! My favorite of the series is the 2nd shot. The butterfly sipping nectar from the beautiful pink flowers – the subject is clear – the background muted (with just the right droplets of sunshine) to supply a perfect canvas for the subject. Well done!

  5. Donna – great job. Haven’t seen you in awhile. I didn’t know you had a new lens. I know you will enjoy using it. All the butterflies are pretty but my favorite is The Clipper. The blue in the butterfly really caught my eye. Hope to see you at work sometime soon or shooting photos!!

    • Yes a new lens for Christmas, was a nice surprise, I need more practice though! I think the outing Fay is planning to the Arboretum will provide some MORE practice! I hope I can go and see YOU there!
      Thanks for the comment!!
